The Sixth's "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" pop-up bar is now open


The Sixth, 2202 W. Lawrence Ave., transforms into “Honey, I Shrunk The Pop-Up”: a Honey, I Shrunk The Kids inspired pop-up bar opened August 26.

The pop-up bar will offer 14 cocktails cocktails inspired the movies, which starred Rick Moranis as a scientist who shrunk his kids as well as neighbors in the original 1989 movie,"Honey, I shrunk the Kids" along with the two sequels that followed. The themed bar, which will feature a movie themed decor interior and outside, will be around until November 1.

Drinks include: Shrink Ray (hibiscus house-infused vodka; Creme de Violette; $13); Dad, Don't Eat Me (Plantation 3 Stars rum; Honey Nut Cheerios house-infused cereal milk and house toasted oat syrup; $13); Something with Potassium (Lucy Pistolas mezcal; Creme de Banane, coconut water, orange blossom; $15) and Honey I Need a Drink (gin; Rhine Hall Apple Brandy; Liquor 43 and Krupnik honey bitters; $15) and Root beer float (Sarsaparilla house-infused bourbon; sassafras house-infused Lucano, Averna; $14) and Szalinski Sazerac (ryeBig Bottom Starka, house-infused Anyżówka, Peychaud’s Bitters, Angostura Bitters; $15).

Food inspired dishes such as “We’ve Been Saved By … Onion Dip! (French onion dip with housemade potato chips; $9) and I Could Eat A Corndog The Size Of A Truck! (three corndogs served with fries in a truck with sweet chili aioli & ketchup; $9).
