Pasta making demonstration @Eataly, April 13

Eataly, 43 E. Ohio St., hosts a pasta making demonstration conducted by the chef of La Scuola, 3 p.m. April 14. 

Participants will learn how to make handmade dough during to create their own fresh-made pasta along with learning  how to shape pastas such as Cavatelli, Fusilli, Orechiette, and Trofie. 

Seating is typically first come first served. Any guests wishing to include an alcohol beverage must be 21 and older with valid government issued ID card.

Green City Market kicks off its 2024 Sustainable Supper Series  6 p.m. April 16, Ella Elli, 1349 W. Cornelia Ave. 

Tickets include three course dinner, three specialty mocktails created by by Ritual Zero Proof, panel discussion

Proceeds form the event will benefit Green City Market's support for local farmers, educate communities and expand food access around Chicago.

Mercat a la Planxa, 638 S. Michigan Ave., recently launched a Regional Cuisine Showcase, with the current spotlight on flavors and traditions from Barcelona,

The restaurant is current offering is 4-course menu featuring authentic dishes such as the SamFaina served on flaky sourdough and the Anec amb Peres, a duck-based dish served with roasted pears; $85 per person.  Available Thursdays through Sundays through March. 

In addition the Easter Bunny makes an appearance during the restaurant's Easter brunch service available, available now through March 31. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with special guest appearance by the Easter Bunny, now through March 31.

Prairie Grass Cafe, 601 Skokie Blvd, Northbrook, Easter Brunch buffet and dinner services will be available March 3. 

An array of f brunch items includes: deviled farm eggs; Caesar salad; roasted vegetables; crispy cod; twice baked potato casserole; Applewood smoked Maple Creek Farm bacon; sausage patties; gazed ham and more. Omelet and crepe stations will also be offered.
 Brunch will be served buffet style from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The price is $85 for adults and $54 for children 10 and under.

Easter Sunday, dinner will be served from 5 pm to 8 pm featuring Prairie Grass Cafe’s regular menu and some Spring-time specials that include.

Easter dinner take-out packages are available for pre-order. All orders  most be placed by March 28 and will be available for pick-up between 4:30  and 5:30 p.m. March 31.

Please note: Once your reservation is set, Prairie Grass Cafe is setting aside a table especially for you. Prairie Grass Cafe requires 72 hours in advance for holiday cancellations. Failure to cancel your reservation 72 hours in advance may result in a cancellation fee of $20 per person. Call:

Easter brunch and dinner @Wake 'n Bacon

Wake 'n Bacon, $20 special Easter brunch and dinner, features a la carte items March 29-30. The brunch menu will be available 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; dinner 4-9 p.m.

Among the offerings from chef Silas is the mustard and honey glazed salmon over garlic rice with seasonal vegetables.

In addition the restaurant will spotlight additional lunch a la carte items. Selections include: berry bliss crepes (vanilla lemon cream cheese, and house-made berry jam, topped with fresh berries, granola, and a sprinkle of powdered sugar); $16; spiced chicken and waffles (bubble waffle and crispy chicken thighs garnished with pickled peppers and green onions, served with a side of spiced maple syrup); $14.

Dinner a la carte menu features house smoked ribs with special sauce (special blend of bbq, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil and gojuchang) and Bombazo  Pambazo Mexican style sandwich cooked on the griddle (chorizo, potatoes, avocado, sour cream and pineapple pickled red onions, served on a roll brushed with guajillo salsa and griddled; $14). 

Local beers, mocktails and creative seasonal cocktail will be available for pairing with lunch or dinner.
