Kit Kat Lounge and Supper Club, 3700 N. Halsted, will be open with limited seating New Year's Eve. Shantell D'Marco helps guests ring usher out 2020 with a performance. A happy hour event is 5-7 p.m.  December 31.

Buffalo Creek Brewing's NYE Alpine celebration

Buffalo Creek Brewing hosts Alpine Fest, an outdoor celebration featuring brews takes place outside with firepits blazing to keep guests warm. There will be two seatings 6-9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Special packages include for groups (up to six) three hours of all you can drink Buffalo Creek beers, hard ciders; hard seltzers and chef-crafted charcuterie boards; $480.

Azul Maricos + Muelle's Nochevieja 2021 celebration

Azul Mariscos + Muelle, 1177 N. Elston, is hosting a New Year's Eve countdown party with a twist, the countdown to the new year will take place at 10 p.m.  due to COVID-19 restrictions and will close at 11 p.m. Hours for the day are 4-11 p.m.

That said let the party begin! A dine-in dinner ticket ($60) includes: surf a and turf (grilled marinated skirt steak with housemade salsa, corn tortilla refried beans and choice of grilled jumbo shrimp. For an additional cost you can add lobster ($10) or Alaska King crab legs ($40). 

Small plates and dessert are available a la carte. Bottle service will be available on site or to go.

The at home option is "Taste of Azul," which includes three lobster empanandas with chipotle aioli; elote (3 per order) guacamole, chips and salsa. Preparation instructions are included; $29

West Town Bakery says so long to 2020 in a smashing way

West Town Bakery's “F**K 2020 Confetti Smash Cakes,” created by executive pastry chef Chris Texeira, slams the toxic year.

The cakes, 4-inches in diameter and serves four, are vanilla cake with vanilla frosting, filled with rainbow confetti sprinkles, have three unique 2020 cake topper designs to choose from; $20.20 each.

Chefs Michael Lachowicz and Martial Noguier offer a one-of- a- kind New Year's Eve dinning experience

Chefs Michael Lachowicz of George Trois Group and Martial Noguier of Bistronomic have joined forces to offer a one-of-a-kind dining experience New Year’s Eve for one lucky person in their home.

Designed as a dinner party for 2-6 people and hosted by the chefs, the seven-course meal with wine pairings will be served at your home. The dinner service is priced at $8,000 including wines, plus a 20 percent gratuity.

“We are excited to serve one (or several) of our esteemed guests as a value returned for their support,” said Noguier. 

"Chef Martial and I will be at your home before and during the meal, preparing and presenting each course, which will be served by two waiters. It will be a fabulous journey,” Lachowicz stated.

The Adler Planetarium and Empirical Brewery have partnered for a special release, "Space For Everything," a kettle sour beer with peaches and plums, available at the Ravenswood brewery location and select stores throughout Chicagoland area.

The ongoing partnership will see 25 percent of proceeds from the beer's sales supporting Adler's digital programming, including its new space-science variety show, "Wow! Signal."

Perry's open Christmas Eve and New Year's day for dine-in and to-go

Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille, Oakbrook and Schaumburg locations, will be serving Christmas Eve dinner 4-9 p.m. for dine-in and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. to go December 24. The restaurant will be closed Christmas.

Both locations will be open New Year’s Eve at 4 p.m. for dine-in and to-go service. Perry’s is featuring a three-course prix fixe menu on New Year’s Eve is available for dine-in and to-go. The full menu will not be available. Lucky for those who enjoy Perry's Pork Chop Friday lunch special, since the holiday falls on Friday it will be available 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

In addition the complete dinner menu will be available for dine-in and to-go service 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. New Year's day.

If it's a holiday spirit you desire the restaurant's Bar 79 has that covered as well. The seasonal cocktail, the Perry Merry Mule (fresh cut strawberries muddled with lime and cranberry juices, shaken with Tito vodka, served with a splash of ginger traditional style in a copper mug); $12.

Prairie Grass Cafe and the Lee Initiative partner to offer free holiday meals for laid off restaurant employees

Chef/owners Sarah Stegner and George Bumbaris of Prairie Grass Cafe have partnered with the Lee Initiative's Restaurant Reboot Relief Program and food partners Slagel Family Farms; Genesis Growers; Capriole Goat Cheese and Three Sisters Garden to help feed 

The initiative is to help support restaurant employees who have been laid off. The program is offer a free holiday meal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. December 22 at Prairie Grass Cafe, 601 Skokie, Northbrook. 


Guests will be feted to a meal of BBQ slow braised beef with sweet and white potato cheese gratin; salad of greens and pea shoots with apple cider vinaigrette and cookies. Meals come fully cooked with reheating instructions. Call: 847-205-4433.

Aboyer's Christmas Eve dinner ($89 per guest) offers warm gougeres (2 per order) Jean Banchet's pithivier of duck and Perigord truffle along with port wine truffle sauce. A choice of roast rack of lamb with root vegetable gratin; caramelized cloves and rosemary-lamb jus or roast Wisconsin venison chop, sweet potato gratin; chestnut puree and huckleberry sauce and a dessert of classic chocolate opera cake with hazelnut brittle and Armagnac creme anglaise. 


GTG's New Year’s Eve four-course dinner menu for two ($199) to-go features 1-oz of golden Kaluga caviar service; creme fraiche-chive mousse; warm corn blini; paupiette of Dover sole and King crab mousse; lemongrass-ginger creme filet of beef tenderloin and truffle mouse brioche: Perigord truffle sauce, spinach souffle and Napoleon of Sauternes poached pear, truffle creme legere and hot buttered rum. Porkchop Albany Park, 4551 N. Pulaski, is now open, bringing its Southern comfort food and BBQ to a new neighborhood.
