Myron Mixon's Smoke Show Barbecue, 3810 N. Clark, gets the new year off to a good start with a monumental deal January 1. David Mixon's Bloody Mary, meal-in-a-glass cocktail (Tito’s vodka, Zing Zang bloody Mary mix garnished with smoked bacon, two burnt ends, sausage slice, celery, pickle, cocktail onion, jalapeno pepper and Myron Mixon's Rub A Dub Dub Rib Rub rim) priced $16.

The New Year's Day menu also includes the sharable King's Feast of ribs, burnt ends, cupcake chicken, BBQ deviled eggs, brisket melt.

Oyster Bah, 1962 N. Halsted, launches its new brunch New Year's weekend, kicking off 10 a.m. December 31. Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Dishes include three varieties a frittatas (slow roasted ham and cheddar; smoked trout and kale and mushroom) and a fried Oyster Benedict (fried oysters, arugula, poached and tabasco butter).

In addition on New Year's Day, and January 2, Bloody Marys and Micheladas (made with Chef Donny's Bad Seed housemade hot sauce, pictured) will be available for $2.17.

Baconfest Chicago 2017 Early Bird Tix

Early bird tickets ($75) are now available for the Ninth Annual Baconfest Chicago March 31-April 1, UIC Forum, 725 West Roosevelt. Guests will be feted yo unlimited bacon dishes from more than 50 participating chefs and restaurants with proceeds benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Early bird VIP tickets ($175), allows early access to sessions, which means no waiting in lines. Hours are 7 -10 p.m. March 31; noon to 3 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. April 1. All tickets include unlimited sampling and seven drink tickets to be used on beer, wine or cocktails. VIP ticket holders receive one hour early access to selected event.
