Wayback Burgers' grand opening in Darien kicks off at 11 a.m. tomorrow

Wayback Burgers' Darien location, 2425 75th St., opens February 26 with a celebration that kicks off with a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m.

Festivities include live music 3-8 p.m. provided by Joe Fascetta. Specials during the opening include prize giveaways that feature AirPods and an Xbox Series S.

Heaven on Seven's Mardi Gras takeout menu available

Anyone familiar with the Chicago restaurant scene knows there is no better place to party during Mardi Gras then Heaven on Seven and while the restaurant is still not open for business, owner Jimmy Bannos aka the Mardi Gras king, has designed a takeout menu chock-full of his Cajun creations for the occasion.

Menu items, available beginning today, includes a party package for two (3 quarts of any item on the Mardi Gras menu; six cornbread squares and 32 oz of the restaurant's signature Hurricane (four 8-oz drinks) $175; $150 without Hurricanes.


A la Carte items includes:

Soup menu: shrimp and corn chowder; chicken and andouille sausage gumbo; shrimp and crab gumbo; seafood and andouille gumbo; shrimp and crab bisque and shrimp gumbo.

Entree menu: seafood Orzolaya with Aglio e olio, crawfish, shrimp, crab and scallops; Mardi Gras jambalaya; pasta shells with Bayou cream sauce, stuffed with shrimp and crawfish; Bayou ala King with corn bread; Mardi etouffee; and red beans and rice. 

Orders begin today through March 1. No order pickup available Sunday February 27.

The Chicago Firehouse, 1401 S. Michigan Ave, is offering a special three-course prix fixe Valentine's Day menu February 11-12 and February 14; $95 per person, tax and gratuity not included.

Menu includes a starter choice of a choice of: Ahi tuna tartre; Little Gem lettuce salad; signature lobster bisque or wild mushroom and camembert.

Entree choice of: 8-oz prime filet mignon with black truffle whipped potatoes and madeira jus (half lobster tail Thermidor can be added for $32) or potato-wrapped black sea bass with melted leeks, mustard seeds in a port wine sauce.

Dessert options are: table side bananas Foster (February 11-12 only), chocolate hazelnut mousse cake or passion fruit cheesecake.
