Le Sud Mediterranean Kitchen, 2301 W. Roscoe St., will be begin offering a weekend brunch beginning 11 a.m. April 29. Guests will be feted to savory fare such as crab cakes with mixed greens; honey mustard glazed salmon with tarragon yogurt and shaved cucumber.
The venue will also feature a Mother's Day Brunch (11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 14) includes crab cake with mixed greens and Romesco sauce ($21) and honey mustard glazed salmon with tarragon yogurt and shaved cucumber ($25), along with items from the regular brunch menu.

Long Grove's annual Chocolate Fest gets underway May 19. The family-friendly event brings delight to young and old as they stroll from vendor to vendor enjoying delectable items such as chocolate donuts; cocoa bombs; chocolate cotton candy; chocolate covered strawberries. And for the more discerning palate—chocolate truffles.
In addition to the array of chocolate edibles and special chocolate-centric events such as a pie eating contest there will be a carnival with rides and games; animal shows; impersonators and the new Artists Row, featuring the work of local artists, in Towner Green.
