Le Sud launches weekend brunch April 29, Mother's Day reservations available

Le Sud Mediterranean Kitchen, 2301 W. Roscoe St., will be begin offering a weekend brunch beginning 11 a.m. April 29. Guests will be feted to savory fare such as crab cakes with mixed greens; honey mustard glazed salmon with tarragon yogurt and shaved cucumber.

The venue will also feature a Mother's Day Brunch (11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 14) includes crab cake with mixed greens and Romesco sauce ($21) and honey mustard glazed salmon with tarragon yogurt and shaved cucumber ($25), along with items from the regular brunch menu. 

A Mother's Day dinner menu (4-9 p.m.) options are: crab spaghetti with Sambal Oelek chili sauce, garlic and shallots ($29); or grilled whole mackerel with tabbouleh salad with parsley, tomato, mint, onion and bulgurfeat, ($35).

Bottomless mimosas, Bellinis or bloody Marys are available for $25. Mothers Day reservations available at RESY.com

Brew Avenue Events present the The Naperville Food Truck Festival, featuring more than 25 Chicagoland food truck vendors returns May 6, Naperville Settlement, 523 S. Webster St., in downtown Naperville.

In addition to a parade of more than 25 food trucks to select food items, the family-friendly event will feature live entertainment; a Cinco de Mayo beer garden and tons of fun for kids that includes: face painting; bubble artist; balloon artists and a temporary tattoo artistry.

Chocolate Fest in Long Grove, May 19-21

Long Grove's annual Chocolate Fest gets underway May 19. The family-friendly event brings delight to young and old as they stroll from vendor to vendor enjoying delectable items such as chocolate donuts; cocoa bombs; chocolate cotton candy; chocolate covered strawberries. And for the more discerning palate—chocolate truffles.

In addition to the array of chocolate edibles and special chocolate-centric events such as a pie eating contest there will be a carnival with rides and games; animal shows; impersonators and the new Artists Row, featuring the work of local artists, in Towner Green.  And f course it wouldn't be a complete weekend festival without live music daily.

The event takes place in village's historic downtown district, 145 Old McHenry Rd., Long Grove. Hours are noon to 11 p.m. May 19; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. May 20 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 21.

The Albion launches limited time Sunday British pot roast and buffet

The Albion, an English inspired pub serves up Sunday British pot roast and buffet (beef prime rib roast; roasted potatoes with traditional sides), $30. The meal will be available Sundays beginning April 9 through Father's Day.

The inaugural brunch launches 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the Parlour, located on the second floor, and will be available 12:30-3:30 p.m. The venue will also host a Mother's Day Brunch and Sunday Roast 11:30-3:30 p.m. May 14.

Hours for the regular Sunday Roast and Brunch events take place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through June 18.
