Long Grove's annual Chocolate Fest gets underway May 19. The family-friendly event brings delight to young and old as they stroll from vendor to vendor enjoying delectable items such as chocolate donuts; cocoa bombs; chocolate cotton candy; chocolate covered strawberries. And for the more discerning palate—chocolate truffles.
In addition to the array of chocolate edibles and special chocolate-centric events such as a pie eating contest there will be a carnival with rides and games; animal shows; impersonators and the new Artists Row, featuring the work of local artists, in Towner Green. And f course it wouldn't be a complete weekend festival without live music daily.
The event takes place in village's historic downtown district, 145 Old McHenry Rd., Long Grove. Hours are noon to 11 p.m. May 19; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. May 20 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 21.
