Replay's Marvel Adventure begins

Replay Lincoln Park2833 N. Sheffield, will turn into a world of Marvel adventure with during its Marvelous Arcade pop up beginning July 30.


During the event that runs through September 6, the Lincoln Park bar will transport guests to a Stan Lee filled world of Marvel heroes featuring iconic character-centric themed games, drinks and food items.


Themed food items include: Stan Cur-Lee fries; Quantum pretzels; Shawarma smash and Auntie Me's chocolate cake. 


In addition to weekly trivia, cosplay pageants and Marvel themed arcade and pinball games include.


This event and all of the games are free, with no reservations, tickets, or tokens required. Must be 21 an older. COVID-19 regulations will be in place. Guests who have proof of full vaccination may remove the required mask.




 
 



WhirlyBall beer flights soar through summer

WhirlyBall (Bucktown 1825 W. Webster Ave., and Naperville, 3103 Odyssey Ct.) “Beauty is in the Eye of the Beerholder” custom beer flights will be available through summer.

Guests can sample four 5-ounce beer selections for $7. Customers can design flights from a choice of 24 rotating craft beers on tap with a focus on local and regional brewers. 

Drafts include 3 Floyds Gumballhead and Alpha King, Tighthead Brewing Company Scarlet Fire, Maplewood Brewing Company Brownie Points, Pipeworks Close Encounter, Sweetwater H.A.Z.Y. IPA, Miskatonic Skycap, and more.

Hours are: Tuesday-Thursday, 4-9 p.m.; Friday, 4-11 p.m.; Saturday, noon to 11 p.m.; Sunday 12-8 p.m.

Dine Out on Sheffield, which was announced along with Dine Out on Broadway, has been cancelled for the upcoming weekend. The weekend dining series returns July 30-August 1.

The Panda Cares Fortune Cookie Truck, featuring chocolate covered fortune cookies, heads to Maggie Daley Park, 337 E. Randolph St. 1-6 p.m. July 22. 

If you have time today you can catch the truck at Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand Ave. until 9 p.m. A suggested $1 donation will be given to Panda Cares, toward funding for its health and education efforts.

Bar Roma, 5101 N. Clark St., launched a new summer dinner menu available Wednesday through Sunday.

Chef Fred Ramos new menu items include: an array of new antipasti selections (summer squash bruschette; Tuscan kale and Michigan peaches salad; fried eggplant with imported buffalo mozzarella), handmade pasta dishes (vegetable lasagna; buffalo mozzarella ravioli with sweet corn; squid ink fettuccine with seafood), Roman-inspired entrees (wood grilled octopus; parmesan crusted chicken breasts; veal Milanese; wood grilled 16-oz prime ribeye) and more. The complete dinner menu is outlined below. Pair your fare with Bar Roma's extensive list of signature cocktails, amari, Italian wine and birra.

Nando's Peri Peri celebrates Mandela Day with giveaway

Nando’s PERi-PERi honors its South African roots by celebrating Mandela Day in remembrance of the South African leader and anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela. 

To commemorate Mandela’s 67-year-long fight for social justice, Nando’s will be devoting 67 minutes to giving away free meals to customers who bring a donation to local food banks. 

The event runs  noon to 1:07 p.m. local time at all Nando’s US locations (Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC, and the Chicago area), Sunday, July 18th. 

Customers brining a non perishable food item will receive a free flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken leg or breast, prepared at the spice level of their choosing. 

Donations benefit United Way NCA in the Washington metropolitan area and Inspiration Kitchens in Chicago.
