The Chicago Sun-Times is set to launch "Food We Love," a web-based food show hosted by long-time Chicago news anchor Linda Yu. The show, debuting in April, spotlights Chicagoans with interesting or inspirational stories connected to food.

Featured guests run the gamut from food and beverage industry insiders, including chefs and sommeliers from some of Chicago's hottest restaurants, cookbook authors, lifestyle experts and folks from everyday walks of life with interesting food stories to share.

Bistro Campagne hosts exclusive dinner

Bistro Campagne, 4518 N. Lincoln, kicks off Chef's Dinner at the Table, a joint effort by Executive Chef Luke Creagan and Beverage Director Alex Uribe, March 29. Two seating will be available 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sessions are limited to six guests. 

The evening starts with an amuse: Madame nigri, followed by a first course of: diver scallops, bruleed ponzu aioli, baby carrot tempura, marinated grapefruit and wakame salade; second course: Wagyu beef seared on hot rocks, negri-yaki beurre blanc, confit Yukon golds, crispy pommes de terre douces, pickled moutard seeds and machi. The dessert course is: matcha gateau, shoyo caramel, shiso-fennel ice cream, ginger crème anglaise and red vein sorrel. No substitutions. 

The cost is $85 (excludes tax and gratuity). Reservations, which must be booked in twos, can be made at 773.271.6100A credit card number is required when making reservations. Seating is based on a first come, first served basis.

Baseball season is right around the corner and local pubs, restaurants and bars are rounding up specials in honor of the Cubs' home opener April 9.

Joy District, 112 W. Hubbard kicks off the season with a viewing party beginning at noon April 9 Parlay, its new sports parlor located on the first floor. Game-day fare will include: Neapolitan style pizzas; piri piri chicken wings; octo poppers ( red curry tempura octopus with Thai-infused fluffy coconut); chicken fried chicken burger on a waffle bun (pictured).

Parlay at Joy District will air the game on 19 100-inch LED TV's and a 200-inch projection screen. The game, Cubs vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates, airs at 1:20 p.m.

Marchesa hosts Mondavi wine dinner

Marchesa, 535 N. Wells, hosts a four-course Mondavi wine dinner March 22. Dina Mondavi (pictured), founder and director of Folio Wine Partners, will be on hand to discuss the wines; $125, plus tax and gratuity.

The evening gets underway with a reception at 6:30 p.m. featuring duck confit crostini with pomegranate and pear compote and pink peppercorn creme fraiche paired with 2017 rose of Cabernet Sauvignon. Dinner begins at 7 p.m.

Pairings include: insalata Marchesa with seared diver scallop partnered with 2016 Animo Heritage Sauvignon Blanc (Napa Valley); beet puree-filled casonsei pasta, shaved beets, toasted pistachios, Beurre Blanc, Parmigiano-Reggiano, crispy prosciutto di Parma paired  with 2016 Isabel Mondavi Chardonnay (Napa Valley) and rambouillet lamb chops, sauce Vierge, purple potato puree in a port sauce reduction served with 2014 "M" by Michael Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley). The final course is trio of cheeses (Robiola, Taleggio and Caprino) with quenelle of dark chocolate and candies spiced nuts paired with 2015 Emblem Oso Passito (Napa Valley).

Hotel EMC2 Salutes Einstein and Pi Day
