Timothy O'Toole's Pub, (participating locations), host a family-friendly, early evening New Year's Eve event, 5-7 p.m. December 31. 

Regular dinner and bar menu will be available for adults. A special curated bento boxes and kiddie  cocktails will be available for the occasion. 

Entrees: chicken fingers ($9); hamburger or cheeseburger ($9); grilled cheese ($6); pasta with red sauce or butter ($8); Mac 'n cheese ($9) and O'Toole's boneless wings ($9).

Sides: fries; tater tots; homemade chips, veggies with Ranch dip; rice and broccoli.

Kiddie cocktails include: Anya's adventure (sparkling water, raspberry syrup and fresh mint leave); Bella's Ballgame (Sprite, kiwi; and watermelon syrup with a cherry); Lola's Lemonade (lemonade with cherry and pomegranate syrup and a cherry) and Christian's Crusher (Sprite, blue cotton candy syrup and cherry). All cocktails are $2.25 each. 

Kid's bottled sodas (Goose Island Root beer; orange cream and vanilla cream) will also be available ($3 each).

Early ticket sales for the 9th Annual Cider Summit Chicago available though Dec. 31

Early ticket sales for the 9th Annual Cider Summit Chicago, are available through December 31. The event takes place February 4, Aon Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier, 840 E. Grand Ave. 

More than a 150 cider, cider cocktails and spirits will be highlighted. Food trucks, event stor for purchasing merchandise and a fruit and spirit pavilion will be on stie

A portion of ticket sales will benefit Women Employed, a Chicago-based advocacy organization that pursues equity for women in the workforce.

Prairie Grass Cafe's at home holiday meal to go

Prairie Gras Cafe, 6201 N. Skokie Blvd., Northbrook, is offering two holiday options: Holiday's at Home, dinner kit and Holiday Meals to go.

The "Holidays at Home dinner," includes  Orders must be placed by December 21.

The Holiday Meals to Short Rib Dinner package for Two includes: slow-braised barbecue short ribs; Yukon golden potato puree; mac & cheese; broccoli bacon bread crumbs; Parmesan crusted roasted carrots; basil remoulade; mixed greens salad with figs, dates, goat cheese and cider vinaigrette and for dessert, sticky toffee date cake. The meal will need reheating and comes with instructions; $132.

A la carte items include: one quart butternut squash soup ($20) and two red wine selections E. Guigal, Crozes Hermitage, France ‘19 with aromas of blackcurrant, vanilla, delicate oak and spices ($32.50) and Marietta Cellars, OVR, Zinfandel, Sonoma with aromas of  black fruit and baking spices. Full body and jammy with moderate acidity  ($26.50).

Cody's anniversary weekend party and Empty Shelters event

Cody's Public House, 1658 W. Barry Ave., hosts it one year anniversary with a weekend celebration December 10-11. The fun kicks off Dec. 10 with  $1 drinks from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Selections include: mimosas; bloody Marys and Miller Lite. 

The fun continues with the The Mix 101.9 FM, who has partnered with Bissell Pet Foundation to aid in funding adoptions fees's, "Empty the Shelters" live fundraiser broadcast to help find homes for local shelter dogs. 

In addition there will be other specials for the day that include a dog-themed cocktail along with special price drinks that include: Leinenkugel pints ($5); Skrewball ($5) and Miller and Coors buckets ($20). A Leinenkugel sampling will also take place as well as a raffle. There will also be a special dog-themed cocktail.

Day two of the event (December 11) includes Cody's tree decorating party featuring a free breakfast buffet from noon to 2 p.m.; doggie photos with Santa, polaroid and paw print ornaments and free pup cups. Drink specials will include: $5 mimosas and $20 Miller and Coors Light buckets along with a dog-themed cocktail menu.

Timothy O'Toole's, 622 N. Fairbanks, Timmy's Tinseltown Holiday Pop-up is now open. The festive holiday themed decor includes lights, trees, plaid  chairs and nutcrackers about and a special holiday drink menu. 

The festive featured drinks are: 

Prancer's Paloma (Tres Agaves blanco tequila, lime juice, pomegranate monin, cinnamon demerara, grapefruit juice and Sprite. Garnished with frozen cranberries and a lime wedge; $12)

Jingle Juice Jumbo  (O'Toole's vodka; blue curacao; grenadine; pineapple juice; orange juice; and ginger ale. Garnished with gingerbread cookies, frosting and maraschino cherries; $12). 

Christmas Cookie Martini (Stoli Vanil vodka; amaretto; butterscotch schnapps; vanilla cinnamon demerara and Half and Half. Garnished with dash of cinnamon and sugar cookie; $13)

Feelin' Frosty (O'Toole's vodka; blue cotton candy monin, splash of lemonade and Sprite. Garnished with marshmallows;  $10.
