Owner/Brewmeister Mike Marr of Buffalo Creek Brewing, 360 Old Historical Lane, Long Grove, is hand-crafting a special lineup of authentic German-style beers for the venue's Oktoberfest celebration noon to 10 p.m. October 5.
Food items (provided by Village Tavern and Apple Haus) available for purchase include: brats; German potato salad; strudel; cinnamon spice donuts; soft pretzels. Apple Haus will also feature hot cider.
In addition the Bavarian-style brewer will feature a day-long schedule of special events that include: hayrides; barrel rolling (adults and kids competition); double and single-fisted stein holding contest; nail driving contest and horseshoes. Family events include pumpkin painting and a cookie contest. A raffle, with prizes ranging from Bears tickets to rounds of golf, will also take place.
Proceeds from the day-long event benefits the The Rotary Club of Long Grove/Kildeer/Hawthorn Woods.
