Botanic brewing company Forbidden Root, 1746 W. Chicago, launches a Sunday brunch program 11 a.m. today (May 1).
Chef Dan Weiland's menu centers around classic American fare with a twist such as malted hanger steak with Provolone scrambled eggs and breakfast potatoes; pork belly and kimchi pancake with Tokaji maple syrup and French toast with smoked peanut butter mousse and caramelized banana. Specialty items such as The Remedy (ramen with duck, confit, beans, poached duck egg) also debut. Specialhours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
