The Gage Hosts Beer Event

Beer has come a long way from old-school taps like Miller, Budweiser, Schlitz and Pabst so much so that local microbrew and crafted varieties are now the "king" of beers. The Gage, 24 S. Michigan, hosts a screening of the beer documentary "Beer Hunter," about beer and whiskey journalist Michael Jackson 6-10 p.m. January 27. A panel of experts will be on hand to discuss the evolution of beer and the samples that will be available for tasting. Admission is $40, includes  a 5-oz souvenir glass. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the National Parkinson's Foundation. thegage
