Whisky Advocate magazine hosts, WhiskyFest, 6:30 p.m. May 13, Hyatt Regency Chicago, 151 E. Wacker Dr.

The festival, which also takes place each year in San Francisco and New York City, offers the opportunity to sample whiskies from around the world—including single malt and blended Scotch, Irish, bourbon, rye, Tennessee, Japanese, Canadian, and craft-distilled whiskies—and learn firsthand from the experts. Distillery representatives will be on hand at their pouring booths, while educational seminars, featuring their own tastings, will be running throughout the evening as well.  

 

Guests will meet meet an array of distinguished distillers, master blenders and other whisky experts.  

  

A VIP session kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Grand tasting 6:30 p.m. and seminar sessions get underway at 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.

All tickets include access to the grand tasting, all seminars (on a first come first serve basis), a commemorative Glencairn crystal nosing glass, gift bag, program booklet and pen, a gourmet buffet throughout the evening, and, of course, hundreds of whiskies to sample. VIP tickets include all items listed above and are also granted admission to the ballroom at 5:30, a full hour earlier than general admission.
