
Jimmy Bannos, chef/owner of Heaven on Seven, 111 N. Wabash, hosts a Cajun cocktail party and book launch for Chicago-based food and travel writer Matt Kirouac's Unique Eats & Eateries of Chicago food book, 5:30-8 p.m. September 13.
Kirouac's book delves into the city's rich food history and thriving food scene from its vast mecca of ethnic cuisine to noted hidden gems such as authentic taquerias and cantinas and old-world delis. And its iconic restaurants that define the city. Tickets are $45, includes autographed book; or $25 without the book. Both tickets include passed appetizers from Heaven on Seven and Purple Pig, hurricanes, beer and beer.
