Grand Cochon comes to Chicago

For the first time ever the winner of the Grand Cochon 14-city culinary competition will be crowned in Chicago. The competition's finale takes place 5:55 p.m. October 1 at Morgan Manufacturing, 401 N. Morgan. VIP admission is 5 p.m. The multiple-city Cochon555 winners, including Chicago's Ricardo Jarquin of Travelle Kitchen and Bar, will be on hand for the announcement of the winner taking place at 8:30 p.m. General admission begins at $150. Purchase tickets.

Events leading up to the event include: Guest chef charity dinner, featuring past Cochon winners join host Ricardo Jarquin for a special dinner, 6 p.m. September 26, Travelle Kitchen and Bar at the Langham, 330 N. Wabash; Punch Kings cocktail competition 3 p.m. September 30, Stagg Court, Chicago Athletic Association, 12 S. Michigan; Bespoke: An Exploration of Taste and Thought, 7 p.m. September 30, Chicago Athletic Association. View all tickets and special packages.

A portion of the weekend's events will benefit Piggy Bank, a farm-in-the-making dedicated to supporting heritage breed pig farmers.
