The Rambler Kitchen+Tap, 4128 N. Lincoln Ave., in a tribute to the1964 animated holiday television classic, "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer," will host a “Misfit Christmas” pop-up beginning November 26.

Owner Kyle Bagley said “The idea for our Misfit Christmas pop-up came about because they thought it would be fun to get together with our band of misfits to celebrate the holidays recalling old memories and honoring a classic from our childhoods.”

Inside each room will be inspired by a different scene from the classic holiday tale with Misfit toy figurines about and staff dressed as characters throughout.

Savory dishes include: Toy Taker Turkey Sandwich (roasted turkey breast, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and a side of cranberry sauce) and open-faced chicken pot pie served on two buttermilk biscuits.

For the sweet tooth crowd there's: Snickerdoodle pretzels topped with cinnamon sugar served with icing, reindeer food (rice cereal, chocolate, peanut butter, powdered sugar, and red and green M&M’s) and Sam the Snowman shaped powdered sugar donuts.

Drink inspired cocktails ($10-$14) include: Yukon’s Old Fashioned (Old Forester Bourbon, Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey crème de cacao, and chocolate bitters topped with a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup); Silver and Gold (NOLET’S Silver Gin, Mionetto Prosecco and white cranberry juice with a cranberry and rosemary garnish); Yule Mule (Jack Daniels Tennessee Apple, Jack Daniels Tennessee Fire, ginger beer, cranberry juice, lime juice and cranberries); Bumble-tini (Black Irish White Chocolate Irish Cream, Bushmills Irish Whiskey, crème de cacao white, and a blue sugar rim).

Hot drinks such as Hermey’s Hot Chocolate and an Old Country Toddy will also be available

The themed-pop-up goes beyond the interior with a stretch of Lincoln Avenue outside the establishment adorned with 10-foot custom-painted wood characters from the film made by local Chicago artist Reaghan Murphy. Call: 773-799-8881PHOTO CREDIT: PAPERGIRL PR
