Prairie Grass Cafe offers Rosh Hashanah dinner packages


Prairie Grass Cafe, 601 Skokie Blvd., Northbrook, takes the work out of your Rosh Hashanah holiday planning.

Rosh Hashanah items include: chicken noodle soup (quart), $15; chopped chicken liver with grated farm egg (half pint), $8
.

Dinner package for two ($88) starts with honey citrus marinated beet salad. Followed by a choice of one of the following entrees: slow-braised brisket with roasted spaghetti squash and sauteéd leeks; Lake Superior whitefish and wild rice with pecans and roasted apple wedges and crunch apple slaw or, half boneless chicken and wild rice with pecans and honey-glazed carrots with raisins and parsley (pictured).  Dessert is apple honey crumble with toasted oats and pecans.

In addition homemade honey challah bread from Anne Kostroski of Sauce and Bread Kitchen, will be available; $15. Orders must be placed by September 15 for pickup on September 18. Call: 847-205-4433.
