Jingle Junkie holiday pop-up bar


Jingle Junkie3478 N. Clark (Roadhouse 66 Gas N’ Grill), is now open and featuring a Sunday Santa brunch 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. December 8, 15 and 22.
The venue, featured two rooms of seasonal decor, transforms into a quaint sky lodge, for the holiday season.
is offering all-access ski passes with proceeds benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository. 
Brunch items include: fried mashed potato bites with a spicy pickle dipping sauce; ham, cheddar and cranberry melt with smoked bacon and housemade chipotle mayo; smoked turkey sandwich served open face, homemade mashed potatoes; homemade dressing and gravy. Rotating weekly desserts include: Rotating weekly dessert items include snickerdoodle bread and gingerbread skillet cookie.
Specialty drinks include: Peanut Butter Pretzel (Skrewball peanut butter whiskey; Godiva white chocolate liqueur, caramel sauce drizzle and caramel salted rim); Jingle Junkie punchy (adult version of Matt Warner's family holiday punch made with Stoli Razberi); Get N' Blitzen (Buffalo Trace bourbon; Journeyman apple cider liqueur, brown sugar simple syrup topped with Prosecco); and Baby It's Cold Outside glogg (mulled wine with Monrosso red blend, brandy, maple syrup and a blend of fruits and spices, served  hot).
Featured holiday beers include: Goose Island Christmas IPA and Goose Island Bourbon County Stour; Leinenkugel's Snowdrift Vanilla Porter and Bell's Christmas Ale.
Guests can post naught or nice Christmas photo wall. Ask about the all-access ski pass with proceeds benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The pop-up will be be open through January 6, 2020.

Raised, an Urban Rooftop Bar transforms int a winter ski lodge experience for the season


Raised, an Urban Rooftop Bar, located on the third level of the Renaissance Chicago, 1 W. Wacker,  invites guests to experience the Alpines during the launch of Apres This Way, transforming into the  ultimate ski lodge experience.

Running for the duration of the winter season, the bar's interior will be transformed into a winterized lodge featuring faux fur and faux bearskin rugs along with Birch trees sprinkled throughout to create a mountain cabin ambiance, complete with accent throws, bolster pillows and soft lighting.

Guests will also have access to a special Happy Hour and enjoy après ski, a time to warm up and unwind with friends, 4-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday.

Select beer, wine, and rotating old fashioned options will be available. In addition exclusive themed cocktails will also be available, including:  Cabin Fever (Chairmen’s Reserve Spiced Rum, Malbec, rosemary, clove, and smoke)Under the Jalisco Sun (Arette Reposado Tequila, Italicus, Dolin Dry, and Bittermen’s hopped grapefruit bitters) and Ferdinand the Bull (Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry, tamarind, egg white, and angostura bitters)

Cocktail to keep you warm include: PB&T, with Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey, Distillerie Du Peyrat Cognac, oolong tea, blueberry vinegar, and honey, served in a tea cupSantiago’s Waymixed with Havana Club Anejo Rum, coconut, cream, vanilla, and spices, served in a mug; among others. Spirit Free cocktails are also available, and include Ginger and Rootwith carrot, lime, coconut, ginger beer, and garam masala; and Demeter’s Daughterwith pomegranate, lemon, egg white, rose water, and Lagunitas hop water.

One of Kind Show features a gourmet market


The 19th Annual Holiday One of a Kind Show, takes place December 5-8 at the Merchandise Mart, 222 Merchandise Mart, features more than nifty holiday gifts. Don't miss the special section Gourmet Market featuring an array of items that includes: baked goods, teas; dips; sauces and confections.

Graystone Tavern features Hanukkah pop-up bar


Chicago's first Hanukkah-themed pop-up bar "8CrazyNights, opened December 1 at Graystone Tavern, 3441 N. Sheffield.

Guests will be feted to holiday-themed props and decorations that included more than 8,000 blue and white lights; Hanukkah ball lanterns hanging from the ceiling Star of David and dreidel ornaments all about and a lighted menorah; Mensch on a Bench and a photo booth with Hanukkah props.

Traditional Jewish favorites, priced $5 to $12 , include; latkes, matzo ball soup, brisket platter and grilled cheese served on challah bread. Dessert is a boozy jelly donut made with house made vodka infused jelly. 


Festive cocktails Include: Gelt Martini (Wheatley Vodka, Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, Crème de Cacao, chocolate syrup, Hanukkah gelt); Manischewitz spritzer (Manischewitz, Koval Cranberry, Mionetto Prosecco, club soda and an orange slice) and the Sufganiyah (vanilla vodka, citrus vodka, Manischewitz, lemon wedge, powdered sugar); $10 each.

Manischewitz sangria bowl (48-ounces and serves 3 to 4 guests); four rotating theme draft beers ($6-$9) that includes: Messiah (Nut Brown Ale), Chanukah (Brown Ale), Circum-session (Sour Ale) and Shebrew (Double IPA). The bar will also feature an 18-foot giant menorah "shotski" starting at $24 (eight guests can take a shot at once).

Night events such as Hanukkah Happy Hour charity benefit; dreidel spinning tournament and move movie night will take place. More events to be announced. The holiday pop-up bar will remain through December 31.

Rooh now offering Sunday brunch menu


Rooh, 736 W. Randolph, is now serving a Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Executive Chef Sujan Sarkar (pictured) and Chef de Cuisine Sahil Sethi, have created an imaginative dining experience along with a creative cocktail menu.

The new lineup, which ranges from sweet to savor items, includes: a lamb Chapli burger served on a brioche bun (laccha onion, pickle served with ROOH masala fries) and prawn pepper fry Benedict served on brioche with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.

Traditional brunch items include: buttermilk pancakes served with salted jaggery ice cream for those with a serious sweet tooth; an Eggs Our Way section features the Ross Masala Omelette with tomato, onion, chili, and cilantro; a vegan omelette served with a graham flour pancake, cottage cheese, cilantro, and ginger alam; a vegetarian version of scrambled eggs, the Paneer Bhurji served with ricotta cheese, green peas, and cilantro; and lamb keema served with a fried egg and crispy potatoes.

Nordstrom at the Shops of North Bridge hosts a breakfast with Santa


Nordstrom at the Shops at North Bridge, 55 E Grand,  (also a Michigan Ave.), as part of its nationwide seasonal giving campaign to raise over $1M for its charitable hosts a breakfast with Santa  9 a.m. December 7 benefitting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals®

In addition to breakfast attendees can mingle with Santa along with participating in festivities that include:  arts and crafts, photo opps, face painting, cookie decorating, and more. 

Nordstrom will donate 100% of the ticket sales—up to $25,000—to children's hospitals in the community of purchase to support uncompensated care for local families in the most difficult of circumstances. MJ's Steak House's "Space Jam" special


Michael Jordan’s Steak House, located in the InterContinental Hotel, 505 N. Michigan, is featuring a "Space Jam" inspired meal deal during the NBA season. 
The special, Space Jam burger (10-ounce beef burger, stacked with BBQ braised pork belly, pickled onions, dill pickle, stout mustard, butterkäse and aged cheddar cheese) served with hand-cut fries and the Mike Secret Stuff shake (salted caramel milkshake); $27, is a slam-dunk deal.
The Space Jam meal, for guests who want to eat like Mike, will be available in the restaurant's bar area during Chicago Bulls home games only through April 13, 2020, with the exception of the 2020 NBA All-star (February 16, 2020) game being played at the United Center.

SafeHouse Chicago's late-night Black Wednesday party is a go


SafeHouse Chicago, 60 E. Ontario, partners with The Chicago Lighthouse for Operation Black Wednesday, the venue's annual late-night party beginning 10 p.m. November 27.

Specials during the free (cash bar) event includes $4 domestic beers; $5 well drinks; $6 select wines and half-priced specialty cocktails. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the event will benefit The Chicago Lighthouse's services for the blind, visually impaired and Veterans.

Heaven on Seven's seasonal holiday cooking class/dinner


Chef Jimmy Bannos of Heaven on Seven, 111 N. Wabash, puts a Cajun twist on seasonal dishes during his five-course Cajun cooking demo/dinner 6-9 p.m. December 4: $75, wine, beer or Hurricane and recipes included.

Kinton Ramen in Wicker Park now open


Kinton Ramen, has opened its second U.S. location in Wicker Park at 1426 N. Milwaukee.  
The ramen house offers five pork and chicken options that include: original, shoyu, miso, spicy Garlic and spicy jalapeno and include accompanying slices of pork belly that are torched for added caramelization and flavor or juicy chicken breast slices. 

Several shareable plates also available including Kimuchi, Takowasabi, Salmon Tataki, Ton Ton Don, Edamame, Ikapiri and the restaurant’s famous original and spicy Karaage. The restaurant's dining room features seats 54 along with room for 11 at open-kitchen bar.
