The 32nd annual Long Grove Apple Fest takes place September 22-24 in Downtown, 145 Old McHenry Rd.
The apple-centric event offers dozens of apple products that includes everything from apple centric items such as: chocolate caramel apples, candy covered apples, hard apple ciders, apple popcorn, spiced apple lattes, apple tempura, green apple cotton candy, apple crisps, apple goat cheese dumplings, apple cheesecake, apple pie, cinnamon apple ice cream, apple sugar cookie, and more.
Apple themed activities include: apple pie-eating contests; apple bobbing contest, and crafts. A kid's entertainment stage and classic carnival rides and games will also be available.
Live music includes:
September 22: The Shape shifters (noon); Sam Fazio Trio (2:30 p.m.); Lara Bell Band (4:30 p.m.); South of Disorder (6:30 p.m.); Mr. Blotto (9 p.m.).
September 23: School of Old Rock Arlington (noon); Kevin Mileski Band (1:30 p.m.); Southwater (3 p.m.); Deadfest Band (5 p.m.); Ultrabeat (7 p.m. ); 7th Heaven (9 p.m).
September 24: School of Rock Barrington (noon); Renegade Wildflower (1:30 p.m.); Made in America, Toby Keith Tribute (4 p.m. ).
A kiddie entertainment stage will be . As always, there will also be a dedicated classic carnival with thrill rides and games too. The biggest draw at Apple Fest is typically the live music playing continuously on multiple stages spread out throughout town. From local up-and-coming artists to Chicago’s most well-known festival bands, Apple Fest has it all (check the website for the schedule).
Tickets are $5 or $10, three day pass. Hours: noon to 11 p.m.; 10 a.m. 11 p.m. More details.
