Pastry Chef Leigh Omilinsky of Nico Osteria, 1015 N. Rush, partners with New York-based big Gay Ice Cream to deliver an array of frozen treats for Pride Weekend (June 23-24).
Selections include: Dirty Banana (caramelized banana and brown sugar ice cream and cacao nib biscotti); Bump and a shot (pepper coke sorbet with a shot whisky) Apricot Cobbler (mini pie crust filled with a scoop of roasted vanilla ice cream topped with dollop of bourbon and apricot infused whipped cream) Rocky Roadhouse (Rocky RoadhouseTM into a fluffy croissant, showcasing made from scratch almond-crusted pastry filled with chocolate chunks and marshmallow.); Double Rainbow Swirl Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich (blueberry balsamic swirl sweet cream ice cream between to macarons, coated with Trix cereal) and Out and Proud Pops (raspberry, coconut, mango freeze pops in a shot of tequila).
A portion of the proceeds benefits Howard Brown Health, a local non-profit dedicated to eliminating the disparities in healthcare experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.
