Beatrix, will be accepting orders for Valentine's Day cookie decorating kits beginning February 8.
Kits include four icing bags (red, pink, white and blue) and sprinkles and should be placed by noon one day prior to when you want to pick up or have them delivered.

El Famous Burrito, 256 W. Roosevelt Rd, Lombard goes up against El Famous Burrito, 1164 Bloomingdale Rd., Glendale Heights restaurant in a battle to collect the most food for the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry, Inc.
Customers who donate at least one can of food between February 6-13, will receive a free taco. If you come in and don't have a food item to donate you can add $200 to your order and receive a complimentary taco. More information on the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry, Inc.

Buffalo Creek Brewing's February release and Beerlympics events begin today

Buffalo Creek Brewing, 360 Historical Lane, Long Grove, Winter Beerlympics and new beer releases begin February 4.
BCB's inaugural Winter Beerlympics, in honor of the Winter Olympics, takes kicks off Friday in the brewer's Alpine Biergarten and the Rustic Lounge.
In addition to an array of seasonal beers the event features its own winter games for all ages and include: Hammerschlagen (German nail and hammer game); horseshoes; giant Jenga and Snow Snake, an American native game played in the snow. During the games on February 5 and 12 winners will be saluted with prizes.
February Beer releases will be introduced February 4; 5 and 13 (other dates to be announced). Beers include: Heaven N Hell: Munich Helles is the second of BCB’s three new core beers taking over on premise and retail distribution this year (February 4); Xerxes: Chocolate Bacon Stout returns after a two-year hiatus in time for Long Grove’s annual Cocoa Crawl. Free samples of Xerxes for adults and free hot cocoa for kids (February 5) and a Valentine's brew: Leslie Knope Kolsch: Marrvelous brew infused with passion fruit, orange and guava (February 13).
Fork N Fry Food truck will be on hand 4-8 p.m. February 4 as well.

Gallon of chicken & andouille sausage gumbo with two quarts of rice; $70.
Half gallon of seafood (pound of shrimp; crawfish; crabmeat; crab fingers and blue crab) and andouille sausage gumbo with one quart of rice; $80; $45 quart.
Half gallon shrimp gumbo (pound and half pound of shrimp); $80; $45 quart.
Half gallon crab and shrimp gumbo, $95; $50 quart.
Additions include: jalapeno cheddar cornbread squares ($16, dozen; $8, half dozen) and Angel Dust seasoning $10.

Vermilion, 10 W. Hubbard St., launched GREEN: A Vegan Tasting Menu, featuring four curated dishes (crisp kale bhel chaat); (mushroom lotus root kabob); (gobi Portuguese) and (coconut rice), February 1; $48.

City Winery's Chards of Glass salutes Philip Glass' 85th birthday

City Winery is offering Chards of Glass a special commemorative bottle of chardonnay in celebration of composer and pianist Philip Glass' 85th birthday.
The aromatic bouquet includes top notes of brioche and vanilla beans filtered with honeysuckle and tropical fruits with a hint of honey pastries, before following up with notes of toasted bread, a 2019 vintage from Scopus Vineyard, Sonoma Mountain, California.
The cost, $70 per bottle with a two bottle limit. In addition $10 donation from every bottle sold will be donated to YoungArts.org, a national organization that empowers visual, literary and performing artists to pursue a life in the arts. The wine is available for purchase here.
