Mercadito kicks off breast cancer awareness initiative

Mercadito Chicago, 108 W. Kinzie, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, is donating a portion of the proceeds of sales from its grilled chicken tacos and the la vida rosa cocktail during the month to the Lynn Sage Foundation. 

In addition from 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. National Taco Day (October 4) the restaurant is offering two tacos for $7.50. Selections include: carne (rosemary marinated skirt steak, onion, cilantro, celery-root poblano fondue and crispy potatoes); pollo (herb marinated chicken, onion, cilantro, corn, bacon-morita salsa and crispy beet); barbacoa (braised pork, onion, cilantro, sals verde, watermelon radish slaw); brisket ( smoked brisket, crispy turnip, parsnip and root vegetables, homemade barbecue sauce) and rajas (roasted poblano, corn sals de arbol, queso fresco and crispy potato).

*Restrictions include must be two of the same type of taco and guests must mention deal upon arrival.
