NY Delicatessen Sandwich Roundup

New York Delicatessen, 2921 N. Clark, a.k.a the second city deli, salutes not only National Sandwich Month, but the Chicago Air & Water Show (Aug. 15-16) with the bomber (turkey, ham, roast beef, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, American cheese, mayonnaise and deli mustard, $10; $6, half). Available through August.

Weekly specials include: the Cubano panini (ham, smoked pork, mustard, pickles, Swiss cheese, $9; $5 half) available through Aug. 9; the muffuletta, comes with 1.25 pounds of meat (Genoa salami, mortadella, ham, capicola, Mozzarella and Provolone cheeses, muffuletta olive salad on a large Italian round loaf, $28; $8, quarter) available Aug. 11-16; tuna or chicken salad sandwich, ($9; $5, half), available Aug. 18-23 and turkey club (turkey, bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, honey mustard, avocado and special onion sauce, $9.50; $5 half), available Aug. 25-30.

If you're a strictly traditional deli sandwich fan: the New Yorker (corned beef, pastrami, Swiss cheese, yellow mustard on rye), served hot, is your ticket, $11; $7, half).
