Prairie Grass Cafe's Mother Day dinner, order by May 7


Prairie Grass Cafe, 601 Skokie Blvd., Northbrook, has the solution to Mother’s Day during this social distancing lockdown due to  COVID-19 lockdown. 

 “We have so much for which to be thankful,” Prairie Grass Cafe chef/co-owner Sarah Stegner said. 

 “This is a perfect time to reflect, spend an evening with your immediate loved ones and enjoy the company of your family and significant others.”  

 The Prairie Grass Cafe menu has several options including choice of 4 entrées: Beef Tenderloin, Grilled Canadian Salmon, Maple Creek Farm Ham and Cauliflower Quinoa Cakes (vegetarian), all accompanied by a Mighty Vine salad, grilled vegetables, and strawberry cream pie. Dinner prices range from $46-$79. You can order Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail for an additional $4.25 per shrimp and a quart of Asparagus Soup for $15. 

The rosé and pinot noir wines to pair with the Mother’s Day dinner package include: Chateau Minuty M, Rosé, Cotes de Provence, France 2019, $20 and Deloach OFS, Pinot Noir, Russian River 2014, $40. Price reflects our 50% wine discount.

 If your mother isn’t local or if you have friends who are isolated, Zoom or Skype dinner and deliver the Prairie Grass Cafe dinner to them to enjoy together over the internet.  All orders must be placed by May 7. La Josie, 740 W. Randolph, has reopened in time for Cinco de Mayo and is offering a special carryout menu for the occasion.

 Chef/owner Pepe Barajas'  special family-style menu includes: parrillada (grilled steak, chicken breast, house-made chorizo, grilled veggies, rajas poblanas, rice and beans) a vegetarian option is also available. View details and more menu options.

III Forks now open for curbsdie and delivery service

III Forks, 180 N. Field Blvd., is offering curbside and delivery service 4-8 p.m. daily. In addition to its prepared meals, the restaurant is offering ready-to-grill steaks and half-price wine. 

 Ready to grill steak includes III Forks salad, whipped potatoes, seasonal vegetables (tomatoes and seasonal veggies). 

 Steak selections: 6oz filet mignon, $50; 8oz filet mignon, $55; 12oz filet mignon, $60; USDA Prime bone-in 18 oz ribeye, $75 and USDA Prime 6oz New York strip, $65. Next day delivery options may be coordinated with a manager. 


In addition wines priced $500 or less will be available for half price. Suggestions selections include: The Prisoner 2017 ($45); Silver Oak Alexander Valley 2015 ($125 ) and Belle Glos Las Alturas Vineyard 2017 for $58.
