Brasserie by C&C open for business

Brasserie by C&C is the new kid on the block. Chef Jesse Lee is at the helm of the eatery, which offers a prix fixe menu as well as a rotation of a la carte menu items of French inspired cuisine.

Dishes include: French onion soup;  pork belly crispy rice; foie gras croquettes; steak frittes; short rib pappardelle and pan seared Coho salmon.

The beverage menu features beer from local brewers, curated cocktails and artisanal and natural wines. Dinner service available 4-11 p.m. Thursday; Friday; Saturday. The bar will remain open until midnight. Reservations available. Or, call: 773-769-2900.

PB&J, 205 N. Peoria St., ice sculpted bar returns January 21. The bar will feature hot a selection of signature hot drinks that include:  Hot & Boozy (Skrewball peanut butter whiskey; hot chocolate; topped with whipped cream); Great Balls of Fire (Angry Orchid hot cider or Irish You Were Here whiskey, house made coffee and Bailey's infused whipped cream).

Reese's has a new line of frozen novelties that include: Peanut butter sandwich (peanut filling of Reese's peanut butter swirl between chocolate wafers); Peanut Butter Light Ice Cream (peanut butter light ice cream with chunks of Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and a Reese's peanut butter swirl); Chocolate Frozen Dairy Dessert Bar (bar blended with Reese's peanut butter sauce with milk chocolate coating and cake crumbs); Mini Pieces Light Ice Cream (vanilla ice cream).

Food pop-up Smash Jabrito returns January 13

Chicago-based food pop-up Smash Jibarito, which offers a unique twist on the American classic smash burger with influence from Hispanic and Chicago food culture, springs up  9 p.m. Jan. 13-12 a.m. Jan. 14 or, until supply runs out, at 1725 W. Hubbard St.

Enthusiastic visitors can requests a sweet ripe plantain, pan fried than refried to order as about substitutes

CheSa's Bistro & Bar takes inaugural plunge into Chicago Restaurant Week (Jan. 20-Feb. 5)

CheSa's Bistro & Bar, 3235 W. Addison St., joins in Chicago Restaurant's Week (January 20-February 5) with a lineup of hearty, savory gluten-free dishes.

The restaurant, which opened fall of 2022, will feature a three-course gluten-free meal; $59 (does not include beverage nor reflect tax or gratuity).

Dinner hours are: 5-10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday; 5-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Call: 773-754-8523.

The Graystone Tavern's, 3441 N. Sheffield Ave., 8 Crazy Nights of Hanukkah continues through January 8. The holiday pop-up, which first appeared in 2019, is an immersive experience of the Jewish holiday.
