Cody's Public House, 1658 W. Barry Ave., decked out in holiday style, partners with Second City Canine Rescue, to find homes for 12 dogs through a a series of fundraising events that include an Ugly Dog Sweater party, December 16.

In addition there will be a drink for a cause Santa Paws sippers menu. During the event $1 from every drink from the menu will be donated to Second City Canine Rescue. The drink menu includes: Santa's Little Helper (White Claw Black Cherry Vodka, ginger beer and lemon-lime soda) and Lady and the Tramp (a beer + Bushmills shot, Scooby Snack with Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Owen’s Transfusion Mix). The cocktails range from in price $10 to $14. 

For furry friends, free pup cups and $5 Best Buds Brews (non-alcoholic craft brew for dogs) will also be available all month. and will include

Bar Roma, 5101 N.Clark St. in Andersonville will offer a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to go on Wednesday, November 22. 

Chef/Partner Fred Ramos' family-style menu features cider brined roasted turkey breast with gravy and cranberry pear chutney, spiral sliced honey baked ham, garlic mash potatoes, classic green bean casserole, Italian bread stuffing, pretzel rolls with honey mustard butter, bourbon pecan pie and pumpkin pie ($120, serves two). Bottles of Italian red or white wine to go may be added for $25 each.
