Featured cocktails (8-oz and yields two servings) are: G.T.O (gin, vermouth, grapefruit, lime and thyme); or the Some Like it Hot (tequila, lime, orange, agave and  habanero).

M&M Limousine & Bus pizza tours

M&M Limousine & Bus Service partners with Chicago Pizza Tours for a unique carry-our pizza tour experience, especially with the new COVID-19 mandate in place. 

The tour kicks of with a video of WGN's Chicago's Best "Piece of the Pie" segment.

During the even guests will be driven from destination to destination in a chauffeur driven limousine with no direct contact. One note, passengers must open and close the door to main the non-direct contact safety measure. 

After viewing the video guests will be feted to stops selected specifically for the Chicago Pizza Tours (dessert is included). Saturday tours are available beginning October 31. Guest are allowed to bring alcohol allowed but passengers must be 21 and over. Book a tour here.

Goddess and Grocer Halloween and breast cancer awareness baked goods

The Goddess and Grocer, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, has created boob-themed cupcakes available for in-store pick-up or delivery at its Bucktown, Gold Coast, and River North locations. 

The Goddess and Grocer will donate $1 from cupcake sold to Knitted Knockers, an organization that connects volunteer knitters and crocheters with breast cancer survivors to offer free special handmade breast prosthesis. In addition the retailer is donating $1 from every Pink Ribbon Cupcake, a devil’s food cake with marshmallow, pink buttercream, and a pink breast cancer ribbon, to the Lynn Sage Foundation. 

An assortment of Halloween cookies, which customers can can customize with themed options range from pumpkins, monsters and other holiday themes. Pre designed cookie selections are also available at its Bucktown, Gold Coast, and River North locations. Minimum orders of six are $5 each and must be made 48 hours in advance. Place orders here. Mercadito, 108 W. Kinzie St., in response to the Chicago's new curfew for restaurants and liquor sales, its Early Happy Hour: "Let's Drink Early, Because We Can't Drink Late" promotion.

The early happy hour kicked off October 23. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Friday for the next two weeks. Specials include: $10 Traditional Margaritas, $7 Bushmills shots, $7 400 Conejos Mezcal shots and $5 draft beers.

The Dandy Crown, 694 N. Milwaukee Ave., closes out the month with two Halloween-centric events. Up first is a pumpkin carving event 2-5 p.m. October 25. 

Halloween day events include, handing candy out to trick-or-treaters before closing the day out with its Cocktails & Dreams event inspired by Tom Cruise's 1988 flick "Cocktail.

Perry's Steakhouse & Grille opens second area location October 22 at 1780 E. Golf Rd., Schaumburg. The restaurant's design is an open layout that allows guests to see the chefs creating their innovated dishes. The dining room's main attraction a spectacular wine wall. In addition there are four private dining rooms.

Perry’s Bar 79, which features handcrafted cocktails, is an island bar with glass walls that open to patio dining. The bar was named for the year Perry's opened it's first restaurant. More opening details.

WhirlyBall Naperville's Beat the Brewer series

WhirlyBall Naperville, 3103 Odyssey CT, Naperville, hosts Beat the Brewer WhirlyBall series, held in conjunction with SweetWater Brewer, 7 p.m. October 27. Guests can sign up, on a first come, first-served basis to play against brewers for swag bags. Giveaways include a $100 gift card and a SweetWater gift basket

 Big Timber Brew Fest takes place October 24 at Camp Big Timber, 37W955 Big Timber Rd., Elgin. 

More than dozen brewers will be on hand for the event. Arrival time is 1:30 p.m. Beer service begins at 2 p.m.

In addition on the 70th anniversary of the Korean War a special tribute will be paid to the veterans of this war.

Mad Hatter pop-up tea party in town through December

Event organizer Fever and Rabbit Hole Bespoke Gin partner for a unique pop-up experience bringing its traveling Mad Hatter's Gin & Tea Party to town at 2239 S. Michigan Ave.

Hosted by the famous Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" character the party features an array of whimsical cocktails such as  the Smoking Caterpillar (Rabbit Hole Gin with a dash of Rabbit Hole Boxergrail Rye Whiskey with rosemary flavored smoke bubbles). 

For a complete Alice in Wonderland experience guests will be feted to an array of festive concoctions. The pop-up will be around through December. Oyster Soiree Oct. 27 via Zoom

International oyster expert Julie Qiu of In a Half Shell , Ben Harney owner of Mother Shuckers and historian Skip Finley will discuss the African American history of oysters, including the legacy of Thomas Downing, a Black oysterman and an abolitionist who was known in the late 1800’s as the Oyster King of New York during Museum of Food and Drink and WNYC's The Green Space's joint initiative, "Oyster Soiree: a Deep Dive Into the Flavors, Climate Issues and Societal History of Half Shells," 8 p.m. (ET) October 27 via Zoom.

Wings take flight during WingOut Chicago's inaugural six-week "Wing Series," staged by local venues kicks off October 14.

The event, sponsored by Vizzy Hard Seltzer, runs for six consecutive Wednesdays beginning October 14 for six weeks through November 18.

Participating at six area restaurants: Broken Barrel Bar (October 14); OG's Chicago (October 21); Woodie's Flat (October 28); Flagship (November 4); Joe's on Weed St. (November 11) and Whiskey Business (November 18).

Uvae's Wednesday and Saturday October wine tastings

Uvae Kitchen and Wine Bar's, 5553 N. Clark St., next wine tasting is 5 p.m. October 14. Burgundy is the selections. Guests can attend both in person on the heated patio or virtually. Guests bringing their own blanket will receive a complimentary glass of Prosecco. Guests can keep track wines sampled with a tasting sheet.

Tastings, 5 p.m. Wednesday and 3 p.m. Saturdays through October 28, are led by Uvae sommeliers and guest winemakers using Power Point presentations. 

Guests receive four 4-oz pours; $30. Small bite add-ons are available for an additional cost: cheese plate ($15); cheese and charcuterie ($20) and duck pate ($12). Register here.
