Israel Idonije Foundation Fundraiser

Compassion, Fashion & Cocktails 2015benefitting the Israel Idonije Foundation, is Oct. 29 at the Godfrey Hotel Chicago, IO Urban Roofscape, 127 W. Huron.

The night includes culinary, special cocktails and a runway show featuring designs from Zadig & VoltaireIsrael Idonije, who spent 10 years playing for the Chicago Bears, will be on hand to greet guests during a VIP cocktail reception 5:30-6 p.m. 

The entire event is for charity and will raise money and awareness for the Israel Idonije Foundation, whose mission is to positively impact underserved communities through programs that help develop social and emotional life skills through its four core programs in Chicago, Winnipeg and West Africa.  

Food Participants include: 25 Degrees; Boka Group; Blue Plate, Freshii; Frontier; Pioneer Tavern Group; Ixcateco Grill; Loews Hotel; Real Urban BBQ; Seasons 52; Sugar Bliss Cake Boutique; Sullivan's Steak House, Untitled and Zoom Pizza Factory. Sommelier Jim Bube of Heritage Wine Cellars hosts a wine tasting.

All ticket holders will have access to a cocktail reception from 6-7:30 p.m. Followed by the fashion show. Tickets, available only at the door, are $65; $100 for the private meet and greet.

Fountainhead's Cigars and Whisk(e)y Series

Fountainhead Roof Deck, 1970 W. Montrose, hosts the third installment of its Cigars and Whisk(e)y series 7 p.m. October 26. Distillers  are Arran Distillery, Kilchoman Distillery and Tamdhu Distillery. Smokes provided by Up Down Cigar.

Chef Friedman creates a Arran-inspired tuile with oats, coffee, soaked cranberries, almonds, orange zest and chocolate.

Tickets ($15) includes a 1.5-ounce pour of any featured whisky and one cigar. Flights, pours and pints will be available for an additional cost. Click here for more information.

Halloween on May St.

Cermak, gets into the spirit of Halloween with a night of food and drink specials, including the 3GS pumpkin margarita ($6.66) and spooky-theme food and scary treats beginning 9 p.m. Oct. 31. Come in costume for an even bigger treat. The restaurant will hold a best costume contest with the winner receiving a $100 chef's table dinner. Must be 21 and older.

spinoff of its original operation, Piggyback Tavern, in Forest Park, opens Oct. 22 at 176 N. Wells. Another downtown location (500 W. Madison) is scheduled to open soon.

M Burger's November Shake: Pumpkin Pie

Chef Tim Hockett of M Burger has announced the flavor for its November shake of the month: pumpkin pie (house made pumpkin and vanilla ice cream topped with graham cracker crumbs and a dusting of homemade pumpkin spice). The shake is available at all locations Nov. 1-30.
