Cookies & Dreams' first Illinois location is open for business in Oak Lawn at 10800 S. Cicero Ave. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The company brings a host of sweet treats to the table that include: snickerdoodle cheesecake (snickerdoodle cookie stuffed with vanilla cream cheese frosting, topped with a cookie glaze adorned with cinnamon sugar and a drizzle of salted caramel sauce.

Wilmette's Buck Russell's serves up the August's sandwich of the month at Marvin's Food & Fuel, 954 W. Fulton Market. The selection: "The Uncle Billy."

The sandwich (warm shaved corned beef, Hook's Baby Swiss, sliced dill pickles, and spicy brown mustard with a side of hand-cut fries) prepared by Chef Jenny McCoy " is named for Buck Russell's co-founder, Ryan O'Donnell's brother. 

Proceeds from the sandwich will benefit Pilot Light, a nonprofit organization that introduces food education and its benefits to students. Call: 312-291-9255.

Transit Tees' 8-week Chicago Handshake Passport Challenge quest encourages Chicagoans to explore neighborhoods and collect passport stamps from participating bars listed below.

The event ends with a finale event September 22 at Emporium in Logan Square. Find complete details and rules heree

The endeavor is an effort in support of Another Round Another Challenge which provides relief assistance to bars, restaurants and hotels.

Along with offering the brand's specialty coffee/tea beverages such as the Orange Creamsicle Cold Brew (cold brew, orange zest, oat milk, and vanilla), Blue Milk Latte (vanilla mint, cold brewed pea flower tea, cold foam oat milk) and Strawberry Lemongrass Matcha (strawberry lemon grass blend, matcha tea, and oat milk) as well as it's popular pastries.

The frozen novelty's mission—is to raise $10,000 to donate to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. How? Moose Tracks will donate $1 for every free ice cream given away to the organization.
