Passion House Coffee Roasters celebrates in a golden way

Passion House Coffee Roasters, 2631 N. Kedzie, turns seven and it's the customers who get lucky. On  April 7, both in-store and online, the upscale coffee house will feature $7 bags of its  Chicago House Blend coffee.

For in-store visitors the coffee house will feature the Lucky Seven Latte as it's official anniversary drink flavored with black pepper, cardamom, turmeric and house made simple syrup; $4.

In addition guests visiting the coffee on April 7 will be eligible to win free coffee for a year. A drawing for the winner takes place at 7 p.m.

Specials, available to 12 a.m., include the Final Countdown Haus Dog (topped with spicy cheese sauce and a strip of bacon to reflect Loyola maroon and gold); This Burger (with white American cheese, caramelized onions and mayo) and That Burger (white American cheese, pickles, lettuce, chopped onion and 1000 Island), $4 each. The Chicago Sun-Times is set to launch "Food We Love," a web-based food show hosted by long-time Chicago news anchor Linda Yu. The show, debuting in April, spotlights Chicagoans with interesting or inspirational stories connected to food.

Featured guests run the gamut from food and beverage industry insiders, including chefs and sommeliers from some of Chicago's hottest restaurants, cookbook authors, lifestyle experts and folks from everyday walks of life with interesting food stories to share.

Bistro Campagne hosts exclusive dinner

Bistro Campagne, 4518 N. Lincoln, kicks off Chef's Dinner at the Table, a joint effort by Executive Chef Luke Creagan and Beverage Director Alex Uribe, March 29. Two seating will be available 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sessions are limited to six guests. 

The evening starts with an amuse: Madame nigri, followed by a first course of: diver scallops, bruleed ponzu aioli, baby carrot tempura, marinated grapefruit and wakame salade; second course: Wagyu beef seared on hot rocks, negri-yaki beurre blanc, confit Yukon golds, crispy pommes de terre douces, pickled moutard seeds and machi. The dessert course is: matcha gateau, shoyo caramel, shiso-fennel ice cream, ginger crème anglaise and red vein sorrel. No substitutions. 

The cost is $85 (excludes tax and gratuity). Reservations, which must be booked in twos, can be made at 773.271.6100A credit card number is required when making reservations. Seating is based on a first come, first served basis.
