Chicago Zoological Society presents ZooBrew, 10 a.m. August 27, Brookfield Zoo, 8400 W. 31st, Brookfield.
Three sessions will be held: VIP (all day admission to the zoo; exclusive access to the Discovery Center and and early admission to ZooBrew event; exclusive food and specialty brew sampling and visit with animal ambassadors); ZooBrew full session (all-day admission to zoo; admission to ZooBrew pavilion events from 3:30-7:30 p.m.; sampling of more than 80 beers and commemorative glass) and ZooBrew half session: (all-day admission to zoo; admission to ZooBrew pavilion events from noon to 2 p.m. and commemorative glass.

Cookies & Dreams' first Illinois location is open for business in Oak Lawn at 10800 S. Cicero Ave. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Wilmette's Buck Russell's serves up the August's sandwich of the month at Marvin's Food & Fuel, 954 W. Fulton Market. The selection: "The Uncle Billy."
The sandwich (warm shaved corned beef, Hook's Baby Swiss, sliced dill pickles, and spicy brown mustard with a side of hand-cut fries) prepared by Chef Jenny McCoy " is named for Buck Russell's co-founder, Ryan O'Donnell's brother.
