The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant, 1401 S. Michigan Ave., In honor of National Public Service Day June 23, is offering firefighters and police officers a 25% discount on The Firehouse Executive when they dine in.

The Firehouse Executive, which serves two, includes two cups of lobster bisque, a baby iceberg wedge salad, two prime 8-oz filet mignon steaks, potatoes au gratin, brussels sprouts, creamed spinach and a choice of house made dessert.

WHIM, a new immersive cocktail experience at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave., focuses on the appeal to all senses, brining various forms of art and libations to the table.

Picture this, if you please, a "whimsical" tantalizing experience that evokes a platitude of sensory conduits in the form of classic art, street art and performance art into motion while engaging the sense of taste with provocative libations such as the Chain Smoker (tequila reposado, mezcal, bitters, agave syrup smoked with cherry wood chi, spritz with orange zest); Fluffy Punch (white rum; pineapple juice; house made raspberry syrup; topped with lemon lime soda and cotton candy); Tarty Party (vodka; triple sec; fresh lemon juice; fresh lime juice, topped with lemon line soda and house made pea flower magic syrup).

Theme night events and live performances  will be featured.

The venue opens June 25. Hours of operation are: 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. Wednesday-Thursday; 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday-Saturday; noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Cultivate by Forbidden Root, 4710 N. Ravenswood Ave., has added a Sunday brunch to its lineup and Chef Cruz has created an array of delectable dishes for the occasion that includes—The Root (choice of style of egg; bacon and house potatoes).

Other offerings include: French toast with ciabatta, pineapple marmalade, rum panna cotta, candied nuts and seeds); vegetable hash with seasonal vegetables; truffle vinaigrette, Yukon Gold potatoes, sweet potato and choice of egg (choice of style) and a variety of sides.

Brunch pastries include banana coffee cake with cinnamon and almonds and a blueberry muffing with streusel topping
